How Small Businesses Can Drive Web Traffic - Besides SEO

We all know about SEO, but honestly, there have to be other ways to get traffic to your small business, right? You are in luck. There are a few great ways you can drive web traffic to your small business that doesn’t focus solely on search engine optimization. SEO is great, but we need other ideas to grow the business. This is where Sandcastle Web Design & Development comes in.

SEO is a great way to market but there are other marketing areas that can be added to cast a larger net. The four methods we are going to talk about will help you make the right steps forward. This list isn’t comprehensive but it is a great place to start.

  • Content
  • Social Media
  • Interviews
  • Get Mobile

Content, Content, Content

This can come in many different forms, and the more of them you use, the better. Visual, written, and audio forms are the three overarching content types.

The better quality your content is, no matter the type, the better it will be for those that visit your business site. This can also drive traffic because the more content there is to find, the more likely you will pop up in search results.

But what are we specifically talking about when we talk about content?

  • Podcasts
  • Ebooks
  • Blogs
  • Infographics
  • Amazing photos

Social Media

Especially now, the world is incredibly digital, which means that if you want your business to flourish, you need to be digital too. No matter how you feel about social media, for the sake of your business, you need to have a presence on social media.

The best way to do this is to pick the two best platforms for your niche and focus on those with as much time and effort as you can give. If online interaction and business pick up, then you may need to hire someone to just deal with social media.

Interviews

This is a great way to get out in a new way. This can look like a few different things. One of the best ways for a business that doesn’t already have a podcast to do this is to find a podcast in your niche and approach them about interviewing you. Podcast hosts are always looking for fresh material and guests to fill their slots. Using someone else’s audience is a great way to get more exposure.

If your business already has a podcast, then you can do the reverse of this. Find someone in your niche that you would like to interview and lobby to get them on your show. Their audience will tune in and hopefully become your audience.

Get Mobile

Not being mobile-friendly with your website or blog is almost like the kiss of death. Most people access the internet from a phone or tablet, and if a site isn’t compatible with that device, they will go to a site that is.

If your site pops up in the search results, that is great, but if your site can’t be accessed from a mobile device, then it won’t matter. So make sure you get mobile.
